My professional background includes extensive experience in education, public policy and community service. Most recently, I served as Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, with a focus on education, digital innovation, regulatory reform, housing, and Tribal relations.
Prior to my role in the Governor’s office, I held the position of Deputy Superintendent and Chief of Staff at the Wyoming Department of Education. My two decades in educational leadership encompassed diverse settings—including traditional public, charter, online, rural, inner-city, suburban, and Native American schools—where I worked as a teacher, principal, and school improvement administrator.
Beyond my work in Wyoming state government, my public service includes serving as Mayor of Firestone, Colorado, and other community leadership roles. As Co-Vice Chair of the Denver Metro Mayors Caucus, I advanced international economic development and cultural exchange initiatives with officials in the Middle East, China, and Canada.
I hold a law degree from the University of Wyoming, a Master’s degree in Education Administration from CU Denver, and a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State.
My wife, Megan (a Nurse Practitioner), and I have three grown children and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of our first grandchild this summer! In our spare time, we enjoy traveling, reading, and fly fishing. Our family chose to move to Wyoming in 2016, drawn by the high quality of the state’s school system. While our roots began elsewhere, Wyoming is now our home.
